Red wine from France, Red wine from Bordeaux - Haut-Médoc - Vintage 2017
Château Sociando Mallet is a Bordeaux wine that is part of a passion for a territory that dates back to 1969. Indeed, it is following a real love at first sight of the winegrower Jean Gautreau for a wine estate located in the commune of Saint-Seurin-de-Cadourne, in the Haut-Médoc appellation, that today vines grow on a soil composed of Günzian gravel and a clayey subsoil. For this 2014 vintage, 60% Merlot, 37% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Cabernet Franc are associated.
Château Sociando Mallet has an intensity all its own. The rise of Merlot in the blend of this year 2014 does not in any way distort the classic style of the red wine lineage of Château Sociando Mallet. The tannic structure is straightforward and, to the eye, the robe has a certain elegance. On the nose, you will discover a subtle blend of black fruit notes, flowers (violets), hints of liquorice and spices. The mouth is dense and fresh with an airy finish. No doubt that you will be conquered by this great Médoc wine!
Served at the right temperature, it can be enjoyed immediately but it could be interesting to keep it for a few years in the cellar. Its very high ageing potential will allow you to drink it with delectation even after 30 years in the cellar!
