Red Wine of France, Protected Designation of Origin Faugères
Tonnerre de Dieu Domaine Léo Vareille is a red wine that has undergone rigorous control, from the vine to the winemaking process, to meet the specifications for a protected designation of origin Faugères. This wine is of very good quality and was even noticed during the general agricultural competition where it won the gold medal. In this bottle, you will have the pleasure to guess all the richness of the noble Terres de Faugères, a terroir with schistous, rough and stony soil. The vines are south-facing on a sloping relief and each grape variety (Syrah, Grenache, Mourvèdre) has been traditionally vinified.
According to the tasting of the berries before harvesting, the winemaker took care to harvest the grapes separately and at maturity. All the potential of each grape variety was exploited to the full by vinifying them separately. The maceration lasted about twenty days and the ageing continued in barrels.
Tonnerre de Dieu Domaine Léo Vareille has a beautiful purple colour including ruby reflections. On the nose, aromas of garrigue, spices, black fruits and cocoa. The mouth is balanced thanks to rather discreet and fine tannins.
This red wine can be enjoyed with local dishes but can also accompany grilled meats.
