Bories des Fontans Pic-Saint-Loup 2016 Vieilles Vignes is a typically Mediterranean red wine. It has the Pic-Saint-Loup protected designation of origin which characterises the place where the grapes are grown, i.e. in a majestic setting benefiting from a mild winter and a hot summer. However, the excess temperatures in the summer are regulated by the proximity of the sea. The granular marls are the home of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. After sorting on the table, each of the remaining bunches was destemmed, i.e. the stalks were removed before each grape was pressed. The vatting was carried out in stainless steel tanks.
Bories des Fontans Pic-Saint-Loup 2016 Vieilles Vignes is served at an ideal temperature of 17° C. Its colour is both brilliant and deep and it has a complex and concentrated nose. Assertive and ripe tannins will be felt on the palate. It is also considered fleshy because it gives an impression of fullness and density. In cooking, it will be very easy to enjoy this red wine with roast meat, veal or duck.
This 2016 vintage promises great sensations on a daily basis and has been bottled by the harvesting owner Nicolas Vellas.
