Grand Bateau - Red Wine - vinified by Château Beychevelle
Red wine from France, Bordeaux PDO
Red wine from France, Bordeaux PDO
Special features
Grand Bateau was born in the 80s as the result of close collaboration between the Barrière House and Château BEYCHEVELLE. The boat adorning the label is reminiscent of the mythical drakkar of the prestigious Château BEYCHEVELLE, a sister company of Barrière.
Developed by our oenologist from the best lots selected from our partner properties, Grand Bateau embodies the nobility of great Bordeaux wines. Philippe Blanc, Director of Château Beychevelle, gives us his precious support for the final assembly of Grand Bateau.
Impeccable and consistent quality, a unique style combining a solid structure, the beauty of the fruit and sweet spicy notes, Grand Bateau is shaped to appeal to young consumers as well as to discerning connoisseurs.
Grape varieties: 65% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon
Vinification & aging: Grand Bateau undergoes careful vinification combining traditional know-how and modern techniques. The final blend, which combines wines aged in oak barrels and others, more classically, aged in vats, gives the wine its suppleness and exquisite vanilla notes.
Tasting notes: Nose: the nose has a lovely expression of ripe fruit, spices and vanilla. Palate: on the palate, the wine is powerful, harmonious with fruit aromas that gently balance the woody notes. The tannins are melted, ripe and silky. Perfect to be enjoyed now.
Food/wine pairing: delicious as an aperitif, ideal with grilled red meats, pasta dishes or mild cheeses.
