Red wine from the Rhône Valley, vintage 2019, Paul Jaboulet Aîné
Saint Joseph Le Grand Pompée is a red wine born in the Rhone Valley, in the villages of Limony and Tournon. In order to enjoy its elegance and finesse, vines had to be cultivated on 100 hectares, themselves located on the most beautiful plots of land in the Côtes du Rhône. This wine is made from 100% Syrah grapes and promises to reveal all the diversity of these terroirs. The grapes were de-stemmed, crushed and then the temperatures and alcoholic fermentations were controlled by Maison Paul Jaboulet Aîné. The vatting period lasted between 3 and 4 weeks, and then the wine was aged for 9 months in oak barrels (15% were new).
This Saint Joseph Le Grand Pompée has a ruby robe with purple reflections and can be decanted, preferably 30 minutes before tasting. On the nose, it reveals very ripe red fruits embellished with notes of sweet spices. Served at an ideal temperature between 15 and 18 ° C, it promises well integrated and round tannins in the mouth.
The finish is balanced, long and supple. There are many gustatory surprises in store for you if you drink it on its own or accompanied by dishes such as a good rib of beef, for example.
