Launch of Enolia.Be Website – Finally a real online wine store in Belgium and France!!

Why a new online wine selling site?

Enolia’s history is simple... it is the fruit of two friends’ reflection. One specialized in wine and a professional actor in this market for years has his shop in the Walloon Brabant and the other, a passionate wine entrepreneur and specialist in web development, strategy and digital marketing. Their observation is simple: there is no real online wine store in Belgium. As soon as we seriously search wine on internet, we invariably fall on obsolete, outdated sites where information on stock and price is often not updated. Or we arrive on these big machines, often French, these "super hard-discounter" of wine where we find everything and above all anything, at any price and without any description or advice. The question is: where to find on internet, a Belgian actor - and thus local - of human size, respecting this product that we love so much and capable not only of selling wine to us online, but who can above all, provide us with simple, concrete and realistic advices in real time? Where to find original wines, fun, easy to drink and share with family or friends, but sometimes also, a great label at affordable prices which I know will have been stored and handled with care by a wine cellar, who knows his job and applies it simply to the sale of wines or champagnes on the internet? The answer: "Nowhere. This online store up to date did not exist." From there, Enolia was born as well as the passionate experts who animate her.

Enolia, the new online wine store in Belgium

From the birth of this new online wine store, new needs and desires emerge:

Online wine merchant or physical store?

This online cellar should have a (and soon many) real store(s) where I can go and take part in wine tastings, take possession of my orders when I don't have them delivered at home, where I can meet, exchange, share my tastes, my favourites, my desires too…and that all of these should be linked to the site on which I can buy my wines online 24 hours on 24, 7 days on 7.

Organization of events and tastings

Enolia has to organize events, meetings around its products. Its great classics and then novelties, things to discover. Because we like it.

An online evolving catalogue of wines and champagnes

Enolia should have a constantly evolving range, suggest new wines for me according to seasons, periods of the year and also... She has to adapt her catalogue of wine online according to the demands of her customers! A new discovery suggested by a customer? Why not! A great label hard to find in a physical store? Perfect, add it to the catalogue, etc...

Wine tips, like in a shop!

She should also be able to give me advices... like in a store. The customer is fed up with big online platforms where no one ever answers… Where we are a number and it is impossible to have someone to talk to. At Enolia, there are real passionates at your disposal! No call centre in a country where bottles have never even been exported, no automated process of complaint follow up where the customer is being treated like the packages delivered to him... automatically, with a number, without a soul and without respect. Dear Enolia we share a passion and a common taste: that of good wine, of prestigious champagne that sparkles with freshness and beautiful bottles which inspire stories to tell! Being "online", does not stop us from being available and to set up a chat to advise you...

Wine on social media

And because this new online wine store really exists, physically, locally, next to you and not just hidden behind an Internet storefront, he will be active on social medias. We can text him, exchange, share about his wines or others, the world of wines and wines of the world, his tastes oenology or just about his personal wine experiences.

Transparency in delivery

Finally, delivery... broad topic! How can we reconcile very expensive transport costs since our product is heavy per unit, expensive (luxury product) and very fragile? At Enolia, we have chosen to play the transparency card, in short, to be honest with the customer. Transporting a single bottle of wine is expensive... it should be selected, packaged and then, transported (following it, the ‘tracking’ it, protecting it from theft and the breakage) alone... it is too much for a single bottle... but if the customer wants it to be this way, we’ll do it. But we will neither raise our prices to make him feel as it costs nothing, nor make a margin on transport, it is neither our job nor our passion. And then, when you are passionate, you get a little carried away... and when we get carried that way, we order for new bottles they don’t travel alone! And there, Enolia takes care of everything, and comes to deliver at your home, free of charge from a certain amount.

Enolia, a new way of selling wine online

Finally, from this starting idea was born more than a brand, more than a new website, more than a new catalogue of wines and champagnes available on Internet. A new way of selling or buying wine or champagne emerged from this sharing. New? Not quite, because what we want to do is offer you the same experience and service in our stores. The same choice of white, red, rosé Wines or exceptional Champagne, but also the same advices from our experts just as if you were in one of our stores. And then we would have given you the opportunity to express yourself, to leave your comments on the site or on social media... And if possible, we will do this with a little humour... At Enolia we are serious when it comes to handling the wine but we find that people who talk about it are a little too serious... because we talk of pleasure, taste, party (with moderation!) or to have an intimate time or with family! All the pretexts are good for enjoying what we know or exploring new gustative horizons for the most curious or adventurous. But let's stop being worked up... because as Salvatore Dali used to say: "Who knows how to taste never drinks wine but tastes secrets."
