White wine from France, PDO Saint-Chinian
Villa Furiosa Les Schistes vintage 2017 is a white wine with a protected designation of origin. The grape varieties that have been used to make this wine are white Grenache, Marsanne and Roussanne. Grenache blanc can be used to make either dry or sweet wines. It is a vigorous grape variety which participates in the creation of wines that are long-lasting on the palate. Marsanne helps to create dry whites of medium acidity while Roussanne brings all its aromatic potential. As far as the terroir is concerned, the vines have a southern exposure on very steep slopes in the Haut Languedoc Regional National Park. This territory includes the Saint-Chinian, where schist is dominant, that is, an acidic soil type that retains little water.
Villa Furiosa Les Schistes vintage 2017 has undergone rigorous fermentation at low temperature. This white wine visually offers a pale yellow colour with green reflections. To the nose, it is a subtle and intense blend that predominates with notes of white-fleshed fruit and floral hints of almond trees. Invite spring into your glass with this wine, which is best drunk at 10° C. The mouth is full, fresh, oily and lingers on the palate with a soft mineral finish. Grilled fish and shellfish will go very well with this white wine.
