Dry White Wine from France – PGI de Gascogne
Nicolas Vellas’ dry white wine Rino Sauvignon – Colombard reflects the fruity accent of the Southwest valley. Thanks to a temperate and oceanic climate, the grape varieties from which this wine was produced (sauvignon and colombard) have been coddled on a clay-limestone soil. A terroir renowned for offering dry white wines, the Côtes de Gascogne here refers to a South-West oriented territory which has been the subject of a Protected Geographical Indication for this bottle. In addition to a location favourable for wine-growing, it is all the work of the winemaker that has made it possible to bottle a dry white wine. The grapes were harvested early in order to reduce the sugar content and, during the vinification, the temperatures were greatly controlled.
The Rino Sauvignon-Colombard produces aromas of citrus fruits in the nose, complemented by those of white and exotic fruits. Provided it is served at 8° C, this wine will enchant your Mediterranean tapas, seafood, shellfish and desserts such as lemon pies. On the palate, it gives rise to a rich aromatic palette of fresh fruits with tropical notes and a beautiful minerality.
This Rino Sauvignon-Colombard has been aged and bottled on the estate by the winemaker Nicolas Vellas, owner and harvester for generations.
