French White Wine - IGP Pays D'Oc – Wine coming from South of France
Gérard Bertrand's Extra Blanc is a white wine which highlights the contrasts of a region. Composed of 100% Grenache blanc, this wine represents both the coastal terroirs of the South of France combining sun and minerality of the sea and the know-how of the winemaker. Its name is taken from the purity and transparency of its pale yellow dress with green reflections.
Given the proximity to the Hérault coast, the harvest is done early in August and the harvest is always carried out at night in order to preserve the integrity of the berries. The grapes are immediately pressed and the first runny juices are discarded to keep only the best of the cuvée. The alcoholic fermentation is carried out at temperatures varying between 15 and 18 ° C and the wine is aged in stainless steel tanks for several weeks.
Beneficiary of IGP Pays D'Oc, Gérard Bertrand's Extra Blanc is ideally served between 10 and 12°C alone, in cocktails or accompanied by exotic dishes or marinated fish. Its fresh and intense nose will seduce you with citrus notes. On the palate, it is greedy and well balanced. The finish is long and mineral.
