White wine from Belgium, Produced by Wijnkasteel Genoels-Elderen
The Chardonnay "Goud" (Gold) from Château Genoels-Elderen is a white wine from the largest wine estate in Belgium. As surprising as it may seem, the flat country has a 25 hectare vineyard located along the ancient Roman roads of the municipality of Riemst. The traditions instilled by the Romans more than 2000 years ago have remained intact, which allows Château Genoels-Elderen to offer you a dry white wine made from 100% Chardonnay grapes.
Fermentation and aging takes place entirely in French oak barrels, about half of which are new.
It is a golden yellow wine with a beautiful shine. On the nose, rich aromas of ripe apple, apricot, clarified butter and candied citrus zest appear. A firm and refined attack, beautiful fruity, fatty notes with a well woven woody touch and a nice finish.
Production is limited to only +/- 5000 bottles per year.
This sublime and rare wine has an excellent aging potential between 5 and 15 years!
On the tasting side, it is recommended to serve it between 8 and 14 ° C. This wine will delight your taste buds by mixing with many dishes ranging from foie gras, poultry (guinea fowl, chicken, partridge and quail) with a cream sauce with white meat with a truffle sauce, cheeses soft cheese and goat cheese.
