Red wine, AOC Fleurie, Beaujolais
Bernard Metrat still harvest by hand, on horseback and in a cart, the grapes from the vines of his estate. With its hot and dry summer, 2018 was a sublime vintage.
This Gamay Fleurie 2018 , received all the flavors inherited from the Spring flowers of its land. Often considered the most feminine of the Beaujolais Crus . Maybe it's due to its floral notes or to the Madonna de Fleurie perched on top of its hill?
The remarkable "La Roilette" climate of Fleurie produces this Fleurie 2018 vintage from Domaine Metrat et Fils. This wine is certified Terra Vitis , the main certifying body for "sustainable control": an approach that favors science and natural approaches rather than the use of synthetic chemicals.
Its velvety, elegance and floral and fruity aromas are immediately attractive. It is composed of iris, violet, faded rose, peach, blackcurrant and red berries and has a beautiful deep crimson color with red reflections. It offers round and silky tannins on the palate. This wine goes perfectly with poultry and white meats.
Its vinification is the result of a selection of vines over 70 years old, part of which is vinified in oak barrels. Its soil is granite, interspersed with clay layers. Behind its structure and finesse, it reveals a depth allowing it to assume a capacity for good aging. It's the perfect garden table red.
