Olivier Leflaive - Volnay is a Grand Red Wine from Burgundy. It is an exceptional red wine from a clay-limestone and clay-silt estate, spanning barely 98ha of vines.

Wine from the vineyard of all the grape purchases in different and complementary localities (Echards, Grands Champs, Poisots, Famines), assembled directly in the wine-making tanks. The soil of Volnay is lighter and stony than that of its neighbor "Pommard" and produces elegant and fruity wines.

On arrival at the winery after a 100% manual harvest, the grapes are carefully sorted in order to keep only the grapes that are healthy and of optimal maturity. This Great Burgundy Red Wine, Volnay , is matured 12 months in barrels (including 4 months of assembly in mass) and for 25% of the harvest, in new barrels .

This wine, made exclusively from the Pinot-Noir grape, gives it superb aging potential (ideally to drink between 2020 and 2025). Volnay are feminine wines. Evolving on an aromatic palette ranging from red fruits to violet, their roundness makes them very attractive, whether the tannins are smooth or harsh. It is a distinguished, elegant and great wine representative of the Côte de Beaune.

Ideally enjoy this Great Burgundy Wine at a temperature between 17 and 19 ° C.

It will go very well with roasted game birds and cheeses with strong flavors.
