Red wine from France - Saint-Emilion Grand Cru Classé Designation of Origin - ORGANIC - 2016
Petit Corbin Despagne 2016 is a red wine of pleasure to be consumed on all festive occasions with friends or family. Since 1998, the Despagne family, owners of plots located in the north of the Saint-Emilion appellation, has been making a rigorous selection of vines aged between 10 and 20 years to produce a wine that favours the suppleness of the tannins and the expression of the fruit. Benefiting from the Saint-Emilion grand cru appellation, Petit Corbin Despagne is born from a clay-siliceous soil on iron dross and old sands on clay. The grapes were harvested by hand in crates with no less than 5 successive sorting. Ageing was carried out 50% in barrels of two wines and 50% in vats. The grape varieties for this 2016 vintage are 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc.
Petit Corbin Despagne 2016 shows a red colour and develops a richly fruity nose. On the palate, it is both smooth and generous. It is a creamy grand cru whose tannins remain well on the length.
This red wine from Bordeaux goes very well with a duck breast as an aperitif, a fillet of beef as a main course or a Camembert.
